Our work
We are the primary advocates for affordable, safe, sanitary and
decent housing for all South Carolina residents, providing a forum
for communication and planning among our members to create and improve
affordable housing for low-income families and individuals.
We monitor existing law and pending legislation on the local, state
and federal level
and actively promote our agenda to lawmakers.
We build awareness of the need for affordable housing through community
outreach activities and information resources. We help individuals and other organizations to become effective
advocates for affordable housing, providing them the resources
to make a difference. We create partnerships with other organizations
whose goals may be similar to ours, such as homeless coalitions.
We work closely with and are an affiliate of the National Low
Income Housing Coalition. Our Vision. All low-income people of South Carolina
live in standard quality affordable housing.
Our Mission. Be the lead advocate for South Carolina's
low- and moderate-income people by educating the public and marshalling
the resources to work toward our vision.
Our Belief. South Carolina has the resources, compassion,
creativity and capability to achieve our vision.
